Paul
Denham Paul is a Controller at the Broadcast Advertising Clearance Centre and has more than 20 years experience in broadcast advertising regulation and claims clearance. As part of the BACC management team he shares responsibility for running the organisation and has an active role in formulation and execution of policy. As head of one of the clearance teams he is involved on a daily basis in claims investigation and script negotiations. In addition to this Paul has become expert in the complex areas of cosmetics, nutrition and medicine. He acts as a staff consultant on these matters at BACC and has a good working relationship with many major manufacturers. He regularly sits on the industry committees connected with foods and medicines. Paul was educated at Oxford where he obtained a degree in Jurisprudence. After leaving university he served 4 years in the Royal Navy broadening his legal and geographical experiences. Paul returned to university on leaving the Navy and studied for a Post Graduate Certificate in Education he obtained a distinction and took up a teaching post in Surrey as head of classics. Eventually the lure of the advertising world proved too strong for Paul so he abandoned irregular verbs and took up his current career as an expert in claims and copy clearance! Paul lives in Essex and is married with two grown up stepchildren.

Tony
Kingsbury The Broadcast Advertising Clearance Centre has benefited from Tony's expertise since 1981 He is currently a Controller with responsibility for most UK television commercials. In addition he supervises copy teams specialising in the vast realm of domestic products. Tony has a degree in History from the University of London. He spent most of his early career working for the Greater London Citizens Advice Bureau Service before moving to a position at the Advertising Standards Authority in 1978. Whilst there he gained a great deal of experience in the fields of press, print and cinema advertising. Tony left just before the Director General's job came up thus leaving the way clear for Matti Alderson ! Tony's main social interests lie in music and sport. The former sees him currently engaged developing a revivalist website and producing an "oldies but goldies" CD collection. Sportwise he is a keen golfer and squash player. He is a member of Crail Golf Society and Epping Squash Club Tony lives in Epping, Essex. He is married and has a daughter at university.
